What style is Taijutsu?Taijutsu is our studio name which literally translates to "body technique". At Taijutsu we practice MMA (mixed martial arts) as a hybrid training system which is inspired from arts such as Kickboxing, Judo, Wrestling, BJJ/Jiu Jitsu, Ninjutsu, Boxing, and Primal Movement. Taijutsu ensures that you're training the full package of striking, throws, and ground techinques, ensuring you become a well rounded martial artist. How do I book in to a class?If you are a member, no bookings are required; simply arrive to class. To book a trial class, please book via our website.

What do I need to bring for my first session?Please wear comfortable clothing such as gym workout gear, thongs for going off and on the matt (we train in bare feat), a water bottle, and a small towel to dry off. Kids classes; please wear a black t-shirt or ask to borrow one of our spare uniforms. If you would like to purchase a uniform please see our friendly staff.

Are you open over holiday periods?Holiday Periods & School Closure If Taijutsu is closed for four weeks or more, you are entitled to a prorated refund, except if the closing is not the fault of the facility; in which case the choice of remedy is at TAIJUTSU's discretion. Taijutsu will close for up to 3-weeks over the Christmas period, dates of closure will be announced 14-days in advance. Taijutsu operates through all school holiday periods. If a public holiday falls on a day of operation, Taijutsu will be closed for that day. There are no payment suspension or refunds available for holiday periods. View Taijutsu Terms and Conditions

Can I pause or suspend my membership?We understand that from time to time you may not be able to train due to becoming injured; the following terms and conditions apply to suspensions: Suspension Memberships can not be suspended or paused; except under the following conditions. Student is injured and cannot participate in regular class activities; supporting medical documentation, date of return to training, and a notification via email to info@taijutsu.org is required. A minimum term of 4-weeks suspension is applied in this circumstance.

How do I cancel my membership?Oh no, we're sad to see you go! If there is anything we can do to help your training experience with us, please let us know first; we're always committed to your growth and development and helping you achieve your goals on why you started your martial arts journey with us. As we build a strong relationship with our students; we kindly ask that you give us a call us or talk to us in class with your intention to move on, we always like to say our goodbyes and wish you well before you depart the team. Cancellation of Membership Minimum term contract applies to: 3-month term membership ($44.95/wk) 6-month term membership ($39.95/wk) 12-month term membership ($34.95/wk) Cancellation of contract fee: 50% of remainder contract value, or 4 weeks - whichever is greater. This amount will be automatically charged on the date of cancellation request. If the minimum term contract has been served, then no cancellation fees apply. In all situations involving your cancellation of a membership, a minimum 4 weeks’ notice is required. Cancellation fee example #1: 5-weeks remining on a 6-month term membership Notice period: 4-weeks Cancellation fee: $99.88 Cancellation fee example #2: 3-weeks remining on a 6-month term membership Notice period: 4-weeks Cancellation fee: $79.90 Cancellation fee example #3: 6-month term served. Notice period: 4-weeks Cancellation fee: $0 A cancellation of contract fee does not apply under the following circumstances: Injury resulting in not being able to train for remainder of contract (must provide supporting medical documentation). What is the minimum age to begin taking classes?We accept students from age 4yrs+ for kids classes. If you child is under 4yrs, please contact us with your interest to join our waiting list and we will contact you after their 4th birthday. Adults are welcome any age.

What if I need to drop my child off and come back after class; is that ok?Yes that is totally fine, just let us know when you arrive that you need to come back after class.

Do I have to book in for a trial class?Bookings prior to your trial classes is essential. It is possible to book up to 7 days in advance; the cut off time for bookings is 1 hour prior to class commencing on the day https://www.taijutsu.org/book-online Once you are a member, you do not need to book in for class; simply log into the iPad on entry which keeps track of your overall progress.

I am not very fit, will I be able to keep up with the classes? And which is the best session time for beginners?"Yes our classes cater for beginners, the very fit and the soon to be fit. All exercises in the class are timed, so you do what you can. As you go to more classes your fitness level will improve and you will find yourself doing more in the time given. If you want to be pushed let the instructor know and they will get you going!

I missed a class, do you offer refunds or make up sessions?Taijutsu offers flexible class days and times to allow for a variety of training options; failure to book a class or non-attendance, does not relieve your obligations of your membership payments. No make up sessions will be provided.

I want to improve my technique, do instructors work closely with us to ensure we are kicking and punching correctly?"If you are wanting additional and continued input into improving your technique, please just let the instructor know and they will work closely with you to make improvements as they go around. We also provide private lessons outside class times if you wish to have specialist attention and improve further, just mention your interest to your instructor for more info.

Is one session a week enough to lose weight and improve my cardio?More sessions are obviously better; we recommend a minimum of two classes per week for best results.
